Alex Cuba- January 29, 2015
Musician, Guitarist, Vocalist, Composer

18 awards and nominations, including two Juno Awards and 3 Latin Grammys.

Cuba

Alex started out in Cuba, studied guitar with his music teacher father and played bass in a pop singers band, before moving to Canada and singing his own penned works. Fronting a trio at venues around the world, Alex Cuba has released four albums and earned 18 awards and nominations for his music, including two Juno Awards and 3 Latin Grammys.

Singing Spanish in an English/French nation shaped his music as much as the choice of a home base in the northern town of Smithers, BC. A sound that at once reminds one of the the musicians tropical roots and inspires the listener to conceptualize an emerging genre of latin soul. Alex's smoky vocals and adept guitars cross genres and cultures through magnetic pop/soul hooks.

Back in the studio with songs written over three continents and collaborations with Canadian singer songwriters, Alex Cuba will release his newest project March 2015 including five bilingual duets. The signature live trio sound is evident on this album from the first song. Vocal harmonies and a Cuban Requinto, a small bodied Cuban guitar, provide an intimate approach to the songs carrying Alex's soul.

Special previews of the music are available to fans on a PledgeMusic campaign including: weekly
updates until the release, behind the scenes footage and exclusive offers for pledgers. The album will hit stores March 31st, 2015 on Alex Cuba's own imprint Caracol Records and distributed by Fontana North. Expect Alex in your neck of the woods for shows promoting the album across Canada, beginning with Toronto at the Winter Garden Theatre April 10th, 2015.
